Six modules, in the order a backend engineer learns them

Each module ends with a project you build from scratch and keep. Later modules reuse what you built earlier, so by the end you have one coherent codebase, not six disconnected exercises.

Why Python for backend work

The most-hired backend language

Python sits at or near the top of every developer survey for backend, data and automation roles. Learning it opens more job listings than any other single language.

One language, the whole stack

Scripts, APIs, database access, deployment tooling and tests all in one language. You stop context-switching and start understanding the full request lifecycle.

Batteries included

The standard library and a mature ecosystem (FastAPI, SQLAlchemy, pytest) mean you spend the course building things, not fighting tooling.

Pay once. Keep it forever.

Every tier includes lifetime access, all future updates and the private Discord community. No subscription, no renewals.

Who teaches it

Mara Lindqvist

Backend engineer, 12 years. Stockholm.

Mara has spent the last twelve years building and running Python services in fintech and B2B SaaS: payment ledgers, billing systems, and the internal APIs that hold a company together. She has been on call for all of them.

The course is built the way she onboards new engineers: start with the language, add one real constraint at a time, and never write code you cannot deploy. Every lesson is recorded on a live codebase, mistakes included.

From people who finished

“I had done three ‘Python for beginners’ courses and still could not build anything. Module 3 was the first time I put an API on the internet. Module 5 was the first time I fixed it at 2am.”

Tomasz, junior backend developer, formerly logistics

“The database module alone was worth the price. I finally understand what an index does and why my old queries were slow.”

Priya, data analyst moving into engineering

“The 1-on-1 calls were not hand-holding. Mara reviewed my capstone like a pull request at work. That is the review I needed before interviews.”

Jonas, Ultimate tier, now at a Berlin SaaS company

Questions before you buy

Do I need any programming experience?

No. Module 1 assumes you have never written code. If you already know another language, you can skim the first ten lessons and start the project.

Which Python version and operating system?

Python 3.12. Lessons are recorded on Linux and macOS; Windows users follow along with WSL, and the setup lesson covers it step by step.

How much time does it take?

The full course is 142 hours of video plus project time. At five hours a week, plan for about eight months. At fifteen hours a week, about three.

What is the refund policy?

Full refund within 30 days of purchase, for any reason. Email support with your order ID. Details on the refund policy page.

Do I get future updates?

Yes. Every tier includes lifetime access to the modules you bought, including re-recorded lessons and new projects added later, at no extra cost.

Can I upgrade to a higher tier later?

Yes. Email support with your order ID and you pay only the difference between the tiers.

How do the mentoring calls work on Ultimate?

Four 45-minute video calls, booked whenever you want them, valid for two years after purchase. Most people use them for code review of their module projects and interview preparation.
